NRT - Neo Radial Technology

Neo Radial TechOur extensive research and development in magnetics and materials sciences enabled us to create NRT – Neo Radial Technology drivers.
With their unique tear-drop shaped motor structure, NRT drivers offer unsurpassed efficiency and performance.

What makes NRT technology so special?

NRTNRT delivers large excursion capabilities, increased linearity, greater power handling, lower distortion and greater efficiency.
Simply said – a driver that can handle large amounts of power with minimal power compression.

Ceramic TransducerFor max efficiency, coil length = magnetic gap length. SPL is Max, excursion is minimum, poor bass, distortion high.

To allow for some excursion, coil length should be greater than the magnetic gap length. But, coil mass higher, inductance higher. Higher mass= less SPL, higher inductance= less high frequency. Poorer cooling - part of coil away from steel.

For max excursion, coil length should be much greater than the magnetic gap length. But, coil mass much higher, inductance much higher. Higher mass= poorest SPL, higher inductance= poorest high frequency. Poorest cooling - large part of coil away from steel.

NRT TransducerFor max efficiency, coil length = magnetic gap length. SPL is Max, excursion is minimum, distortion high.

For medium excursion, coil length remains the same, but the magnetic gap is longer. Coil mass same, inductance same. SPL same, high frequency response same. Excellent cooling - coil always near steel.

For max excursion, coil length remains the same, but the magnetic gap is very long. Coil mass same, inductance same. SPL same, high frequency response same. Excellent cooling - coil always near steel. ALL ADVANTAGES - NO COMPROMISES!

Voice CoilNRT

• Magnetic gap set by magnet length

• Excursion controlled by magnet length

• Coil weight and inductance remain constant

• Coil fully immersed in gap

• Always near magnets or steel parts

• No stray flux

• Intrinsically magnetically shield

• Small and compact design

Conventional

• Magnetic gap set to top plate thickness

• Excursion set by coil length, coil weight and inductance varies

• Coil extends out of gap at top and bottom

• Majority of coil not near steel parts

• Stray flux

• Needs shielding or bucking magnet

• Large and bulky design especially with bucking magnet

Our benchmarks for compact, wide-bandwidth A/V transducers

• Good low-frequency extension = high compliance and/or high mass

• Good high-frequency extension = low mass and low inductance

• High output = high excursion

• Low distortion = good magnetic and suspension linearity

• Magnetically shelded

Here’s how we accomplished it all:

Laptop Speakers

Aurasound began work applying these technologies to dedicated laptop speakers in 2005. The challenge was extreme – laptop speakers are small and thin and face a host of technical complications. During development, we identified several key areas for improvement:

• Power handling

• Frequency range

• Sensitivity

• Stability

The Aurasound team took on these challenges directly and with our patented technologies and engineering experience, we created proprietary and patent-pending designs to improve performance for the category.

Aurasoud has engineered great sound for a variety of famous PC brands.

Television Speakers

Focusing Aurasound’s unique technologies and long experience to the application of TV sound is a natural. Flat screens are getting thinner and thinner and their video performance is getting better and better, TV audio is faced with a real challenge – as the acoustic space to work with gets smaller, hos is it possible to generate sound quality comparable to the stellar picture quality? Aurasound technology can get the job done.
